Q: How does one insert the poster?

  A: You would simply turn the saw-tooth turn buttons on the back and remove the backing. Place the picture in and put the backing back on and you should be set to hang the image.

Q: Is this a flat-top frame? Can the frame accommodate a 4-ply thick photo mat?

  A: I'm not sure what you mean by flat-top. It will only accommodate single mats or possibly double, 4 ply would not fit.
